The gears began spontaneously slipping a few days ago when the car is driven over uneven roads or train tracks or sudden change in elevation. Rattle from the rear of the car at low RPM. Ive changed the fluid and filter about 5 months ago and I regularly check it and it does not smell Burnt. Transmission Noisy in Neutral Luckily, a transmission that is noisy (goes bump) when it is in neutral could have an inexpensive, simple solution such as adding some fluid or changing it. Im the original owner and my Jimmy has approx. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too. Its slow to shift gears and accelerate in Reverse, D4,D3,2 and 1.

reply my Honda accord jillian Apr 6,2016 7:22AM I have a 90 Honda accord. (They had NO clue) The transmission fluid, brown to black-ish, not really a burnt smell, just not clean ;). TS-05, Troubleshooting - Manual Transmission . Then started hearing a light thud with clutch engaging from a stand still to a CLUNK/THUD when I would shift. A flush is perfectly fine, safe and twice as helpful. Low fluids? No check engine light or noises. Noise from drive train with engine idling, clutch pedal not depressed, and transmission in neutral. does not seems to be leaking and the oil looks and smells fine no burning or anything like that I am fairly good with these things but I am drawing a blank Any suggestions would be helpful Olivier Jean-Gilles May 30, 2014 at 10:15 am Reply I have an 02 Accord Lx coupe. Truck Shifting became worse. A mechanical check has reported vibration through gearbox /driveline on steering lock.
